TurboDirect S.A began in the early 1990’s as an automotive performance based service provider, importing products to support the local racing industry in South Africa. Our customer requirements soon expanded into other market sectors including OE in passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle, mining and agricultural applications. Today TurboDirect S.A Hold all the OEM turbocharger distribution agencies. Brands that we import and distribute include Borgwarner, IHI, Mitsubishi, Continental, Holset and Garrett. TurboDirect S.A have in-house repair solutions for all makes and model turbochargers, our direct import strengths from the OEM manufacturers allows us to repair all turbochargers to 100% OEM specifications, something no-one else in S.A can do. TurboDirect S.A are the first and only S.A turbocharger designer and manufacturer, we hold 1 patent for our carbon/Kevlar compressor housing design, with more to come soon. TurboDirect S.A are an international company with presence in Mauritius and Madagascar and South Africa with branches setup in various strategic territories.

Business Focus

TurboDirect S.A core business is the import and distribution of original OEM brand turbochargers, which include Garrett, BorgWarner (KKK & Schwitzer) Mitsubishi, Holset, IHI and Continental - aswell as the repair components in support of the the South African market and neighbouring territories. We provide brand new original turbochargers aswell as CHRA (core replacements) and a complete range of repair parts to all market sectors including Passenger Vehicle, Commercial/Trucking/Transport, Agricultural, Earth moving, Plant hire, Mining, and Performance/racing industries. TurboDirect S.A are the only officially appointed distributor that holds agencies for all OEM turbocharger brands under one roof. We conduct repairs on all makes and model turbochargers available in the market today. We have direct access to the OEM turbocharger manufacturers that we hold the agencies for, to source the turbocharger repair tolerances, and specification data, used for balancing, flow calibration and actuator spring rate data. This ensures the best quality repair, with guaranteed parts and workmanship, with the correct information for the complex calibration required for the repair and setup of todays modern turbochargers. There is no other company in South Africa that has the ability to offer this. TurboDirect S.A are the only turbocharger company in South Africa with its own in-house metallurgical laboratory offering forensic investigative services for all turbocharger related requirements, but also any mechanical failure, evaluation requirement or micro/macro evaluation on any material. Whether it is a failure, or an evaluation of a material, component, or you have the requirement to develop a mechanical product that is market worthy, we have the knowhow and ability to partner you to success. Leadership

TurboDirect S.A was formed by its current CEO and major shareholder Chris Kambouris. Kambouris was the man who brought Garrett by Honeywell to South African shores back in 2005 with a joint venture with Autozone, shortly thereafter Kambouris acquired the master distributorship for Garrett directly with Honeywell and built the brand to what is it today. Expansion to all other brands including Borgwarner, IHI, Mitsubishi, Holset and Continental, TurboDirect S.A is todays most comprehensive turbo business in Africa. With Kambouris at its helm, the business has grown exponentially with substantial milestones in the business’ and product development lifecycle. TurboDirect S.A develop its own in-house designed and manufactured turbocharger and related performance products. Kambouris graduated as an electronic engineer in 1995 and has a strong technical engineering knowledge base and experience. TurboDirect S.A has been associated directly with the Garrett by Honeywell brand for over a decade with close relationships with the business. Kambouris is a certified fixed wing pilot and holds 3 different and current aviation licenses. Kambouris is the brain child behind the Carbon/Kevlar compressor housing which is his first patent, with more to follow soon.
